The excuse is the distance to get materials up here to Taos through the Gorge and the price of gas etc. Bottom line, however, is the significant markup on materials justified, is it greed, is it the actual cost of running business or is it taking advantage of the consumer.
Many contractors are forced to travel out of town as far as Denver or Albuquerque to buy building materials. Are the Taos Building Supply companies squeezing the Taos Contractors?
